Sun Life Financial is always innovating and improving. In early 2017, after months of hard work, their team completed a project so monumental, it deserved a huge celebration! (We can’t tell you what that project was, but goodness they were happy to have it finished.)
The Tannery Event Centre, once a turn-of-the-century mill, hosted the celebration: cocktails, dinner, and a show for their team of 100 employees.
The evening kicked off with a cocktail reception, featuring Sam Pearce’s Mingle Magic. During cocktails, Sam introduced himself to guests, welcomed them to the event, and quickly got everyone talking! Groups of people watching Sam grew from five to ten, as guests were drawn into the interactive performance. By the time he was on his way to the next group, guests were laughing, talking, and quickly making new friends.
Following the cocktail hour, guests found their seat and were greeted by the host before enjoying a buffet dinner, catered by the Tannery. After dinner and dessert, it was time for the guests to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
The stage lights sparked to life and the music boomed as the Kitchener Magician ran on stage to start the highly-interactive show. Sam wasn’t the only one in the spotlight; throughout the show, he invited audience members on stage, and they quickly became the real stars of the night. He kept the comedy squeaky-clean and never did anything to embarrass the guests on stage. From start to finish, Sam’s ingeniously silly humour is appropriate and accessible to people from all walks of life.
Our evening with Sam Pearce was the PERFECT entertainment for our event. The ‘Mingle Magic’ was a great start to the evening! And the show after dinner was absolutely perfect! It was great to have so much interaction with the audience too!

The lighting, sound, and stage curtains were perfect for the show – and that’s no coincidence. Sam and his AV technician supplied and operated all the theatrical equipment needed for the show. They started setting up equipment four hours before the cocktail reception, and soon had the Tannery transformed into a dinner theatre. By the time the doors opened, everything was ready to go and Sam was in the foyer welcoming guests and amazing them with his Mingle Magic!
