Mississauga, Ontario:
American Standard and GROHE gather to celebrate the holiday season with engaging entertainment by Magician Sam Pearce at the landmark Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
American Standard’s plumbing fixtures can be found in millions of homes and businesses across North America. There’s a good chance you used one of their products today. In 2015, their Canadian head office hosted their annual holiday party at the Living Arts Centre, a multi-use arts facility adjacent to Square One in Mississauga.
The Living Arts Centre has a beautiful 1300-seat theatre, but it’s not necessarily the best venue for a private Christmas party. Since American Standard was inviting around 100 executives, they decided to host their event in a much more intimate room on the second floor. Although the show wasn’t held in the state-of-the-art theatre, Sam and his technician provided everything needed to ensure guests could easily see and hear the performance.
Four hours before guests arrived, Sam and his technician set up theatrical lighting, bright clue stage curtains, and a crystal-clear sound system. By the time guests walked in the doors, the two-person team had the venue’s Bank of Montreal room transformed into a dinner theatre.
When guests arrived for cocktails, Sam quickly broke the ice and got everyone talking with his incredible Mingle Magic. Right before their eyes, guests witnessed Sam perform amazing sleight of hand with cards, coins, elastics, and other ordinary items borrowed from guests. One of his most amazing feats of magic was causing a metal dinner fork to magically bend and twist. The twisted dinner forks were given out to guests – creating unique keepsakes and memories that last a lifetime.
Following cocktails, guests sat down for dinner while instrumental jazz music played in the background. As dinner wrapped up, guests were served dessert and drinks as they turned their chairs toward the stage in anticipation of the show.
From the moment Sam was introduced, he had the audience engaged and on the edge of their seats. His highly-interactive magic and comedy show was a perfect fit for the diverse group of executives from all walks of life. The show really got rolling when Sam started inviting audience volunteers on stage, to join him in the limelight. Before they knew it, the volunteers became the real stars of the hilarious, squeaky-clean show. The 60-minute show had the crowd laughing from start to finish, but never at the expense of anyone – Sam’s performance is entirely clean and he never embarrasses or offends anybody to get a laugh.
