Shell is the sixth largest company in the world, based on 2016 revenues. More than 1000 Shell gas stations can be found across Canada, along with two oil refineries. Their national operation employs 4000 Canadians from coast to coast, from all walks of life. Based in Burlington, Ontario their Lubricant division specializes in developing and supplying the industrial-grade lubricants that companies need to keep their operations running smoothly.
The executive team’s annual holiday party was hosted at the Burlington Golf & Country Club, a beautiful estate located on the picturesque North Shore Boulevard. The property offers an 18-hole golf course with stunning lake views; if you hit your ball too far, it’ll end up in Lake Ontario!
Before guests arrived for the party, Sam and his technician set up and supplied everything needed for the show. Bright blue stage curtains, a crystal-clear sound system, and theatrical lighting were used to make sure Shell’s guests had the best experience possible. The room was split into three sections: Tall tables were scattered around one end of the room to form an area for cocktails, while round dinner tables were set up at the other end. In the middle of the room, chairs were arranged theatre-style in front of the stage, to give everyone a comfortable, obstruction-free view of the show.
On the night of the event, the holiday party started on a magical note with a cocktail reception featuring Sam Pearce’s Mingle Magic. As guests were arriving and meeting each other, Sam was there to break the ice and spark conversation. Right before their eyes, and in their hands, Sam performed amazing feats of magic that quickly got everyone talking. Guests gathered around Sam as he delighted the crowd with his quick wit, amazing magic, and ingeniously silly humour.
Following cocktails, guests sat down to enjoy dinner, catered by the in-house team at the Burlington Country Club. Once guests finished their dessert, everyone moved over to the theatre-style seating to get a good view of the show.
As soon as Sam was introduced by the host, he ran on stage and instantly captivated the audience by performing seemingly impossible feats with large metal rings. His magic quickly captured their attention as he launched into an hour-long magic and comedy act that had executives roaring with laughter. Throughout the show, Sam invited Shell’s executives on stage to share the limelight, and they soon became the stars of the show. Sam’s ingeniously silly routines put the volunteers in hilarious (but never embarrassing) situations and created memories that will surely last a lifetime.
