Illusionist Sam Pearce kicked off Orientation Week at St. Jerome’s University with a performance for more than two hundred staff and students on September 2nd 2012.
The sixty-minute stage performance featured highly-interactive magic and hilarious comedy. Using his magic, Sam was able to get students talking, and making new friends. The Illusionist’s [clean] comedy performance encouraged the students to get to know each other, while helping relieve the pressure of starting University.
One of the highlights of the show was Sam’s tribute to Magician Harry Houdini. Two students joined Sam on stage to strap him into a straitjacket. The audience roared as Sam attempted to escape from the world-famous restraint. After several minutes of struggling, Sam was met with a thunderous round of applause when he finally freed himself from the jacket.
St.Jerome’s University chose the Hilarious Magic Act to make a good first impression and entertain their students during orientation week at the Waterloo campus. Pearce Theatrical, the producer of the show, supplied stage curtains, audio equipment and theatrical lighting for the performance, along with a team of skilled entertainment technicians to set-up and operate everything.
