Hundreds of executives from Canada’s largest companies gathered at the Oakville Conference Centre on April 12th, 2013, for the annual Start2Finish Gala of Discovery!
Upon entering the grand-scale 10,000 square foot Ballroom, guests were greeted by the incredible decorations and whimsical entertainers inside. Once the guests took their seats, the Emcee stepped up to the podium to welcome the guests. Following the welcoming comments, guests were treated to dinner prepared by Chef Antonio and the kitchen staff at the Oakville Conference Centre.
After dinner, several special guests, including the founder of Start2Finish, spoke to the audience and proclaimed the importance of the programs offered by the non-profit foundation.
Start2Finish is a Canadian foundation with a mission is to break the cycle of child poverty in Canada by providing ongoing educational support to at-risk children throughout their school years.
Following the special guest’s speeches, the Emcee introduced the headlining entertainer, Magician Sam Pearce.
Start2Finish chose Sam Pearce’s Hilarious Magic Act to entertain the high-profile executives attending the annual gala. During the twenty minute comedy and magic performance, Sam amazed the audience while keeping them laughing!
One of the highlights of the Oakville Magician’s show was his incredible straight jacket escape! Two guests joined Sam on stage and strapped him into a straight jacket, while the audience watched. The volunteers pulled and tugged on the straps of the canvas jacket, and Sam kept the audience laughing!
Once the Oakville Magician was strapped inside the straight jacket, he struggled to escape while joking with the audience. As well as successfully escaping the confines of the jacket, Sam explained his actions, teaching the guests how he was secretly accomplishing the show-stopping escape!
Before thanking the guests for watching his entertaining magic show, Sam stunned the audience with his final grand-scale illusion! The magician pushed a small cabinet on stage and showed the inside to be empty, by waving a white feather boa inside. Then, after spinning the cabinet to show all four sides, the magician lifted the lid off the cabinet and the side walls swung towards the floor. In an instant, a VIP special guest magically appeared, standing atop the previously empty cabinet!
