Fischer Canada has the technology and expertise to make incredible parts from stainless steel. They’re leading experts in manufacturing parts for industries ranging from automotive to health care. It’s all thanks to the hard-working team at their 300,000+ sq. ft. state-of-the-art production space in Waterloo.
To celebrate their success, Fischer Canada hosts an annual Christmas party for all their employees and spouses. In 2016, it was hosted at Federation Hall, a 300-person event facility on campus at the University of Waterloo. Decorations, chandeliers, and atmospheric lighting (pictured below) were provided by The Event Firm; a local decorating company that transformed the ordinary-looking venue into a dazzling dinner theatre.
While the decorators added pizzazz to the room, Sam and his technician were focused on the stage. The magician’s team set-up theatrical lighting, a crystal-clear sound system, and bright-blue stage curtains. They supplied and set-up all the equipment needed to ensure each and every guest could easily see and hear the after-dinner performance.
When doors opened for the cocktail reception, Sam was the first to break the ice and spark conversation among guests. Throughout cocktails, he walked around the venue, performing his up-close Mingle Magic. The Kitchener Magician performed amazing magic with cards, coins, forks, and other borrowed objects – right before guests’ eyes. One of Sam’s most memorable illusions was the magical bending of a metal fork. Once the fork was twisted beyond repair, it was given to guests as a spectacular keepsake.
Following cocktails, guests sat down for dinner, drinks, and dessert, catered by the team at UW’s Federation Hall.
After dinner, it was showtime!
The moment he was introduced by the emcee, Sam ran on stage with a jolt of energy that instantly captured the audience’s attention. During the sixty-minute stage show, the comedy magician invited many of Fischer Canada’s guests into the limelight to join in on the fun. Before they realized, the guests were helping Sam create incredible magic, and they quickly became the real stars of the show!
More than a magic show, Sam kept the audience laughing from beginning to end, but never at anyone’s expense. Although funny, his entire performance was completely clean – his comedy would never embarrass or offend even the most conservative guests.
Sam’s final act was a hilarious knife-juggling routine that featured one of Fischer Canada’s top executives. The outrageous finale of the show created a series of unforgettable moments that their team is sure to talk about for years to come!
