This large warehouse-style venue can host up to 700 guests throughout the facility. Unlike traditional ‘carpet and chandeliers’ conference rooms, this venue has large windows, exposed steel beams, and large garage doors that can be used to divide the room. Although, if you don’t want this ‘industrial’ look for your event, the room can be decorated and transformed into a lavish ballroom. The layout is perfect for concerts – there are two bars and two stages, along with a large open area for guests to dance. The largest stage is 32′ wide, 16′ deep, and 32′ high – the second stage is about half as big. Black curtains frame the main stage, which features a very impressive sound and lighting system. There’s a lot at Maxwell’s that you simply can’t expect to find at any other venues in Waterloo.

This Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex has a little bit of everything and offers one of the few Olympic-sized swimming pools available for rent in Kitchener-Waterloo. There are several smaller rooms that accommodate 50-150 people, but the real draw is their Sun Life Financial Arena which seats 4,400 people. Stadium seating and concession booths surround the rink, which measures 30 metres by 60 metres (100 feet by 200 feet). When not used for skating, the arena’s ice surface can be completely covered, allowing trade shows, concerts, and other special events to be hosted in the space. Behind the scenes, you’ll discover eight large dressing rooms with showers, a first-aid room, and a press box. For large shows, there’s a 600 amp electrical service, and staging that can span up to 8½ metres by 12 metres (28 feet by 40 feet).

The museum’s grand foyer is a lavish space surrounded by towering walls of Ontario limestone, and timber from a 19th-century barn. The Tannery was built to serve as an industrial factory in the 1850’s. This large building (it’s the size of a city block) has now it’s been modernized and inhabited by high-tech companies and artisans. Inside The Tannery you’ll find The Tannery Event Centre, one of the most recent event venues to open in Kitchener. Although it’s fairly new, the downtown Kitchener-Waterloo venue is being operated by Bingemans – a local hospitality group with more than 50 years of experience. What makes this venue unique are the giant video screens that line the walls – excellent for meetings, presentations, and conferences. This venue is best suited for groups of 100-250 people. Federation Hall, aka Fed Hall, is a wheelchair-accessible event venue on the University of Waterloo campus. The Main Hall can accommodate 450 people with chairs set up theatre-style or 280 people if guests are sitting down for dinner.
